The Bichon Frise is often affectionately referred to as simply a Bichon. He's a charming and enthusiastic little dog that is of Mediterranean ancestry. Gentle, sensitive, playful and with a friendly and affectionate disposition, they are intelligent, alert and eager to please. Bichons love nothing more than to be the center of attention and hate being alone. In fact, they suffer from separation anxiety, if left alone for long periods of time. The Bichon Frise tends to be good with children and with other house pets. This breed is not a guard dog, but is a good watchdog and will announce the arrival of strangers. Like any other dog, early socialization as exposure to a variety of situations, sounds, and experiences from a young age ensures that your cute Bichon puppy grows up to be a nice, well-rounded dog.

Will a Bichon Frise be a suitable dog for my family?
