French Bulldog - Who despite his name, hails from the UK...
How to successfully own and train a French Bulldog
Breed Introduction
Yes, despite his name, the French Bulldog is believed to be at least partly of British origin. Though less glamorous and showy compared to many other breeds, the 'Frenchie' has won a great many admirers. This is surely down to his unique appeal and mischievous nature, not to mention that he's probably one of the best companion dogs in the world today. Vivacious, playful and comical, the French Bulldog is also blessed with an affectionate disposition. They are highly intelligent and curious, making training them easy as long as you ensure it's entertaining. Frenchies are free thinkers and this can sometimes lead to a stubborn nature. They make excellent watchdogs and will alert you to approaching strangers, but they will not bark without cause. They can be protective of their family and some may defend with their life. The French Bulldog gets along very well with children.

- Whether you have a small back yard or even don't have one at at all
- If you have a back yard, it doesn't matter if it's securely fenced or not
- If you are able to spend at least 1-2 hours total per day for the feeding, exercising, training, and grooming of your dog
- You want a short coated dog
- As long as you don't mind a dog that sheds all year round
- There are no people (or regular visitors) in your home younger than 18 years old

- If you want a dog that barks very little and is non-aggressive
